JAMES YORKSTON

James Yorkston(fl. 1880-90) is identified as being from Edinburgh, Scotland. No information is available about him although apparently he was active as music composer, arranger, and editor in nineteenth century Edinburgh. He published arrangements of folk-songs, including part-song arrangements for Henry A. Lambeth’s Balmoral Choir, and is credited as composer of the famous song Molly Malone in the 1884 publication by Francis Brothers and Day in London.

All are mixed chorus; some contain divisi.
