CLAUDE ERNEST COVER

Claude Ernest Cover (1870–1944) was born in Sherburn-in-Elmet, Yorkshire, England, son of the parish church organist. He first assisted his father, then studied under with Mr. Denton and William Creser of Leeds Parish Church. Starting his career as a school teacher, he established a career as church organist, holding positions at Monk Fryston Parish Church; Rotherham Parish Church; and St. Paul’s Parish Church, Galashiels, Scotland. He. died in Galashiels. His compositions include some church music, keyboard pieces, and a few part songs and songs.

All are mixed chorus; some contain divisi.
