DAVID STRONG

David Strong (1852-1915) was born in Westminster, London, England. He was a chorister at Westminster Abbey, where he received his early training in harmony and organ. He also sang as chorister at the Anglo-American Church in Paris. He worked as a piano builder; was organist and choirmaster at St. Mary’s, Aldermanbury, and at St. Jude’s, South Kensington; was singing professor at the Guildhall School of Music; and was tenor in the Chapels Royal, St. James’s, and Buckingham Palace. He died in London. His published compositions include a Te Deum and Benedictus, a hymn, and a couple part songs.

All are mixed chorus; some contain divisi.
