F. ILIFFE

Frederick Iliffe (1847-1928) was born in Smeeton-Westerby, Leicestershire, England. He was privately educated and graduated from Oxford. He was organist at St. Wilfred’s, Kibworth; and St. Barnabas’, Oxford. He was appointed organist and choirmaster at St. John’s College, Oxford, and was conductor of the Queen’s College (Eglesfield) Musical Society. He later became examiner for the Musical Degrees. His compositional output was quite varied but included an oratorio, a symphony, cantatas, anthems, chamber music, hymns, and songs. He died in Oxford, England.

All are mixed chorus; some contain divisi.
