George A. Veazie

George Augustus Veazie (1835-1915) was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He was educated at Eliot School, Boston, and began studies in music and composition at age 15. He had an active career in school music and was closely associated with Luther W. Mason. He was supervisor of music in the Chelsea public schools and was a faculty member at the New England Conservatory of Music. He wrote a number of school music books and composed several light operas and assorted school part-songs. He died in Chelsea, Massachusetts.
