KATE M. PRESTON

Ida Kate Marvin Preston (1857–1945) was born in Danbury, Connecticut, and became a violinist and music teacher. She taught music at the Choate School, Wallingford, Connecticut, and was the head of music education in the public schools at Wallingford for many years. She also organized concerts bringing artists and special musical events to Wallingford. She died in New Haven, Connecticut. Her few known compositions were for educational purposes and appear in collections for school use.
