B. MANSELL RAMSEY

Benjamin Mansell Ramsey (1849-1923) was born in Richmond, Surrey, England. He became an organist and was a music teacher at Bournemouth Grammar School. He was secretary and orchestra conductor of the Bournemouth Musical Association and helped establish the Bournemouth Municipal Orchestra. He also conducted a choral society in Chichester. He died in West Wittering, England. His compositions include church music, children’s music, piano pieces, part-songs, and hymns. His best known tune is CAMACHA most commonly set with the text Teach Me Thy Way, O Lord.
