HENRY HUGH PIERSON

Henry Hugh Pierson (1815-1873) was born at Oxford, England. He was educated at Harrow and Trinity College, Cambridge, and studied in Germany. He was Professor of Music in Edinburgh University, but lived mostly in Germany. He died at Leipzig. His compositions include oratorios, operas, overtures, works for voice, part songs, anthems, motets, and church music.

All are mixed chorus; some contain divisi.
