ERNEST E. MITCHELL

Ernest Edwin Mitchell (1865-1951) was born in Port Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. His father was a bank manager. He was educated at Prince Alfred College and Adelaide University. He first taught composition in the YMCA and for several years taught at the Adelaide College of Music. He was organist and choirmaster of the Woodville Methodist Church and the Honorary Secretary of the Music Teachers’ Association of South Australia. He died in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. His compositions are principally anthems, organ pieces, and church related pieces.

All are mixed chorus; some contain divisi.
