N. F. BYNG JOHNSON

Norman Frederic Byng Johnson (1877-1952) was born in Belper, Derbyshire. After his schooling, he was organist at the Parish Church of All Saints’ (Birchington-on-Sea, Kent), St. Mark’s Church (Swindon), St. John the Baptist Church (Beeston), and St. Alkmund’s (Derby). He was a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists. He also was Assistant music-master at Denstone College and music-master of Crediton Grammar School. He died in Bath, Somerset. He is chiefly known as a composer of church anthems and part-songs.

All are mixed chorus; some contain divisi.
