HENRY EDWARD HODSON

Rev. Henry Edward Hodson (1842-1917) was born in Lichfield, Staffordshire, England, and was educated at Worcester College, Oxford. He was ordained priest and held appointments at St. Andrew’s Church, Cardstock; Landinabo, Herefordshire; Denstone, Staffordshire; Stoke-on-Terne; Eastnore, Herefordshire; Lyneal with Colemer, Shropshire; and The Lea, Gloucestershire. He composed a dramatic cantata The golden legend, but principally wrote services and hymns. He died in Churchdown, Gloucestershire.

All are mixed chorus; some contain divisi.
