John Hippisley Lowder Glover (1840-1889) was born in Monmouth, Monmouthshire, Wales, and trained at the Cathedral Church in Cheetham, Lancashire. He held organist positions at Bolton Parish Church, Manchester, and St. Mark’s Church, Staffordshire. He also taught music in Kensington and in Chorlton Upon Medlock, Lancashire, England. He died in Chorlton.
