A. REDGRAVE CRIPPS

Alfred Redgrave Cripps (1882-1950) was born in Liverpool Gardens Worthing, Sussex, England. He was trained at the Royal College of Music, winning the Erard Exhibition. He was known as a recital pianist and as a writer on music. His compositions included works for piano, part-songs and songs. His most well-known vocal work was his song settings of Houseman texts, the “Shropshire Lad” songs.

All are mixed chorus; some contain divisi.
