FRANK G. CAUFFMAN

Frank Garnsey Cauffman (1850-1921) was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He originally intended to become a mechanical engineer and entered the Southwark Foundry. He became an architect and is known to have designed a number of homes in Germantown. His talent as a baritone soloist and passion for music caused him also to pursue a career as a musician. He toured with a number of opera companies. He was also active as a teacher and leader, organizing the chorus performances at the Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia. He composed a small number of small works. He died in Philadelphia.
