Samuel George Smith (1851–1923) was born in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. He became a music teacher and served as Principal of Capitol College of Oratory and Music in Columbus, Ohio. He published several pedagogical music books. He died in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
