JOHN HARADEN PRATT

John Haraden Pratt (1848-1938) was born in Freeport, Maine, with early study of piano, organ and harmony in Portland, Maine. He went to California for studies in counterpoint and composition. He travelled to Germany, graduating from the Leipzig Conservatory. Returning to California, he taught at Mills College and the King Conservatory in San José. He was organist at the Church of St. Mary the Virgin and at the First Jewish Synagogue in San Francisco. His compositions were mainly for keyboard, church music, and part-songs.

All are mixed chorus unless noted; some contain divisi.
